Remember when?

Way back in 2008, Ty and I moved into Number 400.

And then we had a lot of gatherings. Most of which ended with us wiping beverages off our newly painted walls.

Good old fashioned fun, really.

Where have those days gone?  Has my taste in tunes finally driven everyone away?

A new, but old, favourite:

Doesn't everyone love Jay and the Americans?

If they don't, they really should.

Come a little bit closer, everyone.  I miss you.

My day of birth makes me a lucky gal

So it was during this month (the one that is supposed to come in like a lion and go out like that baby wooly animal) that I traveled through the birth canal and entered this wonderful world.

And while, as each year passes, I try harder and harder to downplay the event (isn’t it funny how birthdays truly do lose a little something each year?), I have to admit I am always moved when friends and family take the time out of their busy lives to make me feel special. This year was no exception.

I felt special from the moment that I woke up hearing Ty say happy birthday, to the moment I received the gorgeous flower delivery from E. and H., to the moment that I received the heartfelt birthday card in the mail from my parents (they remembered! Sometimes they forget.).

And then there were all the moments in between which continued all the way to Saturday night when we hung out at le Garage.

Thanks.

I am the luckiest girl.

Is there a better movie scene out there?

I think not.

(Tyson: do NOT, under any circumstances, answer that question!)

I admit it...

I play songs that I love on repeat.  Many of you know this about me and don't necessarily appreciate or approve of this quality.  I just can't help it -- when you love something, isn't it hard not to want to repeat it, over and over?

I knew this guy in university who once commented on a new shirt I wore to class.  He asked when I had bought it -- I answered that I had bought it the day before (of course!  it was new!  how could I not wear it at the first chance I got!).  He told me (slightly disdainfully, in my view) that when he bought something new, such as a new shirt, it went into a carefully thought out rotation and therefore it's wearings would be evenly dispersed among his other shirts.  He also told me that he figured that I had bought the shirt the day before.

I purposefully wore the shirt to the next two classes.

What can I say?  This is me.  And I love to repeat.

 Currently repeating this:

And this (Don't hate me for this one):

Promises, promises

So I've been a bit of a big talker about blogging lately.

And so far I've really come up short on that big talk.

What can I say?  I've just felt somewhat uninspired as of late.  I know, I know, there were ten million inspirational things going on in the country all around me, how could I possible feel uninspired?  I did.  Trust.

But today...today! I do feel a little different.  There is a different feel in the air.  Spring?  Is that you?  I sure do hope so.  So I'm going to embrace the postive chi I feel floating about.  And I'm going to own this blog today.

So...a recap of the last little while:

I went on an amazing trip.  We overnighted in CGY and had an amazing dinner with amazing gals (and Billy).

Billy!  Open your eyes!

And then it was on to Kamloops and up into the mountains for some slope action with John and Leah, Ains and Mike and Susanna.

Hey Peaks, nice hoodie.

Sun Peaks was a truly great trip. Lots of fresh air, a little wine, a few serious plates of nachos and lots of laughs.

And then we were back at home -- we shot out to the lake for a trek out to camp and my first overnight at camp in the winter.

Again, we had another killer trip -- more fresh air, more wine and more great conversation with friends.
Not too shabby.

I finally coordinated a visit with the newest MacDonell.  Meet Lila:

Isn't she cute?  She is. I can attest to that.  I met her.

Ok, I know this might seem lame because I have more pictures to post and more stories to share, but I'm done.  I'm tired.

I didn't exactly blog the shit out of it, did I?

Tomorrow, I will.  Balls out, baby.

An oldie but a goodie as a sign off:
